Stitch Up Chicago

Stitch Up Chicago has opened registration for its 3rd annual knitter’s meetup in Chicago, happening April 5-6 at the Godfrey Hotel. What started as an in-person meet-up between friends in an online group, Stitch Up Chicago has expanded to an open-to-the-public weekend with scheduled events, group meals, and lots of knitting. Enjoy knitting kits from Wool And The Gang and KnitCrate, a yarn tasting from Red Heart, and workshops from Universal Yarns. Purchase an all weekend pass or ala carte event admission.

CAST ON: COTTAGE HAT BY DAWN HENDERSON

Add a tick to the Finished Object column with Dawn Henderson’s newest pattern: the Cottage Hat. With a skein of Aran weight yarn and size US 6 and 8 needles, this hat knits up quicker than you can say, ‘Winter Storm Petra.’ Knit in-the-round and from the bottom up, the Cottage Hat features a wide brim and squishy texture from the 1×1 cable throughout the body. Sized from Youth to Adult L, this hat craves a rich solid yarn to let the modern chevron pattern truly pop.
