Hats are one of our favorite weekend projects as temperatures start to dip. And we’re not alone. The influx of hats on Ravelry has us thinking designers love them, too. Many of the hats making their debut to the knitting world show off Fall leaves in eye-catching and unique ways. Celebrate Fall this weekend by casting on one of these two-color colorwork hats!

Foliole Hat by Tanis Lavallee

Celebrate Fall with Tanis Lavellee’s new 2-color work hat. Images of falling leaves “fall” from crown to brim in a most fun way. Use size US 3 and 5 needles and DK weight yarn to cast on this hat.

Folia Hat by Erica Heusser

Simple in design but big on impact, Folia Hat has a mirror image of leaves that wrap around its circumference. Use two colors of fingering weight yarn to make this adult sized hat.

Fallen Feathers Hat by Jill Zielinski

Turkey feathers look like Fall leaves in this hat from Kniterella’s Jill Zielinski. Available in small, medium, and large sizes this hat is an homage to the turkey feathers the designer often finds around her house. Use two colors of sport weight yarn to knit either a slouchy hat or beanie.

Endell by Kelly G.

This hat explores flowing lines and connected leaves, two elements often used by German architect and designer August Endell. Use two colors of fingering weight yarn to make this hat sized from adult small to large.
