Knitting can be so many different things to so many different people – a stress reliever, a retreat, a community – but one commonality throughout our vibrant and talented industry is heart. In happy times, trying times, or in times of crisis, knitters are there to make a wedding shawl, a chemo cap, or even a prayer shawl. Our craft is personal just as much as it can be an act of service. It’s not often that someone can create tangible comfort, but us knitters can. And we will. As often as we can.
The Australian brushfires are devastating, yet makers have sprung into action. Many of you are making joey pouches and koala mitts and sending them around the globe to help the animals in need. And others are donating funds to the firefighters actively fighting the blaze.
