It’s raining and cold here in Atlanta today and my second cup of coffee still hasn’t warmed me up. I’m preparing for a weekend snuggled up on the couch (because what else do Southerners do when it gets cold?!) and searching Ravelry for quick and cozy knits to keep my hands occupied. Lazy weekends call for quick projects so I can rest easy having at least accomplished something when I bind off on Sunday night. Here are four quick and cozy bulky weight knits for your consideration…and mine!

Keeler by Amy Christoffers

So maybe not a weekend project, but a knitter can try. This cardigan combines comfort and style with a slimmer silhouette so that you can go from couch to coffee shop with minimal effort. Use 1160-2320 yards of bulky merino to knit one of six sizes.

Double Brim Beanie by Anna Ivleva

This two-color beanie looks addicting to knit and wear. The double brim design keeps ears and head extra warm, while the modern color block style gives it that “goes with any outfit” touch. And if you find yourself wavering over what colors to use, why not knit up all the color combos? With size US 10 needles and only 200 yards of bulky weight yarn, you may be able to knit more than one this weekend.

ANJO bulky by ITO Yarn & Design

Elevate your bulky weight merino with a lace weight mohair to create this geometric wrap that is easy to throw on and keep you warm. Two sizes of this triangular shawl are available, so choose to knit a small or large version. Either way, it’s one you’ll love to wear.

Coral Beanie by Lizzy Knits

This pattern will gently flex your skills as you work columns of cables up this slouchy hat. Watch the cables grow from tight to loose, giving your finished object a touch of the unexpected and a whole lot of compliments.
