West Cork Yarn Fest

If you need a reason to hop a plane to Ireland this Spring, get your tickets to West Cork’s Yarn Festival happening Saturday, May 25th. The one-day event will feature a curated Marketplace featuring regional yarn offerings, classes with Nathan Taylor aka Sockmatician, and a talk with local-designer Carol Feller (who’s Tabouli was just crowned champion of Mason-Dixon Knitting’s March Mayhem!). Go for the yarn (have you seen Yarn and Cosy‘s beautiful color?!), but stay for the breathtaking views.

Tap Into A New Issue

Now available, Issue 32 of Taproot magazine explores the idea of how we take care – of one another, the earth, and ourselves. The ad-free magazine features essays about living a more connected life, recipes, and knitting patterns from designers Susan B. Anderson and Beatrice Perron Dahlen. Knit the sweet Toadstool Dolls for an Easter basket or the slouchy cable hat to wear through the transitional days of Spring. Get the issue online, at the Taproot Market in Portland, Maine, or at one of their many stockists around the country.

Outfit Of The Day

Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits and Caitlin Hunter of Boyland Knit Works are raising the stakes of the popular Instagram hashtag #ootd (that’s “outfit of the day”). The designing duo has launched the inspired, new hashtag, #todaysknitoutfit, which challenges knitters to actually wear their hand knits. Andrea Mowry kicked off the challenge with her The Weekender sweater, while Caitlin Hunter showed off her Marettimo tee. It’s motivation to finally finish your [ enter pattern name here ] once and for all.

CAST ON: Skov by Woolfolk Design Team

Knit with two colors of Super Bulky yarn, Skov is a reversible, unisex hat that is just as much fun to knit as it is to wear. Pull it down on your head for a fitted look or wear slightly slouchy. Big needles and mosaic style color changes make this hat quick and hassle-free to knit. Knit one for you or your favorite friend, as it is sized for both adult medium and large heads.
