The Minilicious Pattern Club

Designer and vlogger Mina Phillipp (aka KnittingExpat) has announced her newest pattern club: Minilicious Pattern Club. Highlighting those adorable mini skeins sets that you undoubtedly have in your stash yet don’t know what to make with them (or is that just us?!), the club sends members four accessory patterns that use mini skeins (or stashed yarn) starting May 1st. Each month through August, receive a new pattern with a different stitch technique –  Garter Stitch, Fisherman’s Rib, Short Rows, Cables, and Mosaic Knitting. Those who sign up for the club will receive an immediate, free download of the Waffle Cowl, a nine-color, close fitting cowl that blends color and texture. If you can’t commit to the club, the patterns will go on sale for individual download at the end of September.

Marsh Mallow KAL

Berroco kicks off Summer with a choose-your-own-top KAL, featuring the free Marsh and Mallow tops from the Berroco library. The two tops – a short-sleeved tee and long-sleeved cardigan version of the other – are worked with DK weight yarn and couple simple stockinette with stunning, open lacework on the back. Berroco encourages KAL’ers to use one of their new, Spring yarns, like Mantra or Linen Stonewash, but offers recommendations of other yarns that would pair well with either top. Running May 1st – June 3oth, knitters can KAL at their LYS, on Ravelry, or in in the company’s new Facebook KAL group.

Shelli Can’s Instagram Takeover

One thing is for sure: Fiber Swag Queen Shelli Can knows how to create an LOL-worthy Instagram Story. While our Stories may never compare, we can now add a bit of Shelli’s signature wit with her new Instagram gif stickers. After placing your picture in Instagram Stories, tap on the Sticker icon (the happy looking square in the top right-hand corner), and search for “Shelli Can.” The designer has added her classic “yarn snob” graphic as well as her “this is taking forever” hourglass – two options we will use often. And if you need more fiber flair for your Story, find more knitting-themed stickers from We Are Knitters by searching “knitting.”
