But first, show off your knitter status by adding a stitch marker to your shoe. It’s a trend that The Perfect Purl is trying to make happen and we’re here for it.

Get The Knit Vibe

Vickie Howell’s 13th book, The Knit Vibe, is now available for pre-order. Set to start shipping at the beginning of October, this 208-page book is a big-picture look at the hobby and business of knitting. The Knit Vibe includes maker profiles with some of the industry’s influential players, including Kaffe Fassett, Caitlin Hunter, and Bristol Ivy, self-care for makers, tutorials, and projects to keep your needles busy.

Get Rhinebeck Ready

There’s still time to knit a ‘Rhinebeck Sweater’ before the big event (that’s NY Sheep + Wool Festival) happening October 19-20 in Rhinebeck, NY. For your consideration, Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits has released her ‘Rhinebeck Sweater’ in two versions. “Stonecrop” is a textured, pattern top that is worked from the top down with 2 colors of fingering weight yarn and it’s available as both a crewneck pullover and a button-down cardigan. And to keep you on track, there will be a KAL hosted by Magpie Fibers starting on September 2nd.

Gnome Gone MKAL

Imagined Landscapes is hosting another Gnome MKAL, this time featuring Gnellie, a gnome who enjoys indoor activities. Kicking off on September 7th, the month-long knit along will release clues over a months time, revealing a little gnome to add to your collection of gnomes. (Don’t have a collection? Check out Imagined Landscapes’ other gnomes here.) In the meantime, roundup your materials – you’ll need small amounts of 4 colors of fingering weight yarn – and a few sizes of needles.

CAST ON: “Convergence” by Romi Hill

“Convergency,” a customizable shawl, is now available from designer Romi Hill. Using the German Short Row technique and wedge-shaped construction, knitters can choose their desired number of wedges for the perfect sized shawl. The width of the shawl’s border is also customizable. Work this shawl in two colors of fingering weight yarn.
