COMMUTING GONE CRAFT

Temperature blankets can be a big and logistical commitment, so one German woman applied the idea to something she was already doing each day: commuting. The three-color scarf depicts her train delays for each day of 2018. She knit two rows each day – one row for the morning and one row for the evening commute – using grey to document 5 minutes delayed, pink to document 5-30 minutes delayed, and red to document over 30 minutes delayed. While we shudder at the 6-week red period of over 30+ minute delays, we’re thankful she had her knitting.
