But first, simplify your crochet game with this alternative magic ring method from TL Yarn Crafts.

Meet Tundra

New to the Dapper Dye Works’ collection, Tundra is a worsted weight fiber made of a superwash merino and luxe baby alpaca blend. This self-proclaimed “zesty” yarn combines structure and softness to give handknits style and warmth. The 190-yard skeins are currently available in over 20 of Dapper Dye Works’ richly hued tonal colorways. Pre-order your skeins now and they will be shipped the week of August 24.

Casapinka’s MKAL Has Gone To The Cats

Aside from her cat Sharon “running the show” and all of the cat references that will come with it, Casapinka’s upcoming MKAL will feel familiar to her previous group knits. Starting on August 7, join Casapinka to knit The Sharon Show, a rectangular shawl that uses four skeins of fingering weight yarn. One clue (aka set of directions) will be released each week for six weeks and include instructions for both beginner and advanced knitters. While the pattern will remain a mystery until you cast off, you can download the yarn specs, shop yarn kits from dyers and local yarn shops, and get plenty of color inspiration in @casapinka’s Instagram feed ahead of time.

Making Stories Call For Submissions

Making Stories is now accepting submissions for Issue 6, scheduled for release in Fall 2021. The theme is skyward to remind makers to appreciate the beauty above and to take it all in. The magazine is looking for knitting patterns inspired by the sky, clouds, trees, light, or anything else above and beyond. Essays and illustrations are also welcomed. Submissions are due by August 23.
