Bag Trifecta

Fans of Fringe Supply Co’s olive-colored Porter Bin and Town Bag can now round out their olive bag collection with a similarly-hued Field Bag. The color, a customer favorite, has not been available in the Field Bag style due to lack of materials, but through the determination of the Fringe Supply team, it’s back. The go-to project bag, with strategic pockets, drawstring closure, and wrist loop, uses the same olive drab material as the Town Bag and is now available for purchase.

Knit The Town Red

Seven knitters in Thrapston, Northamptonshire in the UK spent a year re-creating High Road, a prominent town street in their town, using yarn. This collaborative (and impressive!) effort shows off the fiber artists’ savvy skill through the detail of the road’s church, storefronts, and gardens. The BBC offers a fly-through video of the neighborhood piece, but locals can see it in person when it’s on display at the town’s fair in late June.

These Socks Are Made For Walking

Mason-Dixon’s newest pocket guide, Field Guide No. 11, is out and it celebrates the handmade sock. In collaboration with stitch master Wendy Bernard, Wanderlust is a comprehensive guide for sock knitters (and those who want to be!), offering both toe-up and cuff-down construction and 13 new stitch patterns. Mix-and-match the stitch patterns and construction styles with different skeins of fingering weight yarn to create socks that are uniquely yours…and inspire you to cast on another pair.
