Free Knit Stars

In an effort to keep knitters happily clicking their needles during their extended home stays, Knit Stars is releasing four free workshops, one from each past season. Up first is a Season 3 workshop featuring Ann & Kay of Mason-Dixon Knitting. Take a virtual trip to their Nashville studio where they will wax poetic about the joys of knitting. The workshop will be available for a full week, before it is replaced by a different workshop.

Ravelry’s COVID-19 Response

Ravelry is helping to streamline the temporary changes happening in the fiber industry as we navigate the ever changing landscape of COVID-19 recommendations. Yarn shops will now find a new field in their shop profile where they can update information as it pertains to store closures, online ordering, and more (check out Four Purls’ profile).  And for those looking to promote or find a virtual event can use Ravelry’s new events database. It’s filled with virtual meet ups, KALs, and classes.

Sew A Mask

Crafters want to help. Always. So when the word got out that there are a shortage of approved medical masks for our hospital workers, sewers got to work. Fancy Tiger Crafts has compiled a list of groups that are organizing mask collections, patterns that offer approved guidelines, and other helpful tips (i.e. use light colored fabric so you know when it’s dirty).

CAST ON: Breckenridge Topper Cardigan by Jessica Reeves Potasz

Light and airy, this summer top is an easy knit with big rewards. Grab 1100-1600 yards of DK weight yarn and knit two rectangular panels that will be seamed together at the end. Wear it over a tank or dress to elevate a summer outfit.
