Knit A Sweater This Month

NaKniSweMo (National Knit-A-Sweater-In-A-Month), inspired by NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), is back for another round of sweater knitting. From November 1st – 30th, join host Shannon Oakey aka Knitgrrl to knit a sweater with at least 50,000 stitches. Cast off and share your your finished object by November 30th for your chance to win a prize from the growing list of donated prizes.

Celebrate all things wool during Wovember. Hosted by Flying Fibers, this month-long prompt challenge challenges you to think and share your connection with wool in a fun way. New York-based artist (and knitter and crocheter) Tim Kelly’s Life Patterns is now on exhibit at AlterWorks Studio in Astoria, NY. The exhibit explores the varied reasons people knit and crochet. Through November 24th, see the personal swatches from real makers and the artist’s paintings based on those swatches.
