But first, check that cardigan off your to-knit list and buy this one instead. Sure it might be on the auction block for $300k, but the ends are all woven in. We hope.

Colorwork Shawls KAL

In celebration of Melanie Berg’s newest book, Colorwork SHAWLS, the designer is hosting a KAL. Now through November 10th, knit any of the patters from her new book with any yarn you’d like. The casual KAL has few rules (just become a member of her Revelry group!) and no hard deadlines, so you can simply just enjoy knitting a shawl in the company of other knitters with similar taste as yours. While the book’s cover project “Maivember
will be a popular KAL knit, we have our eyes set on “5190 Miles.”

This Yarn Is On Fire

Temperatures are beginning to drop, which means it’s time to start thinking of practical knits like hats and mittens. You know, the accessories we really need when we venture into the bitter cold. Level up these staple pieces with Red Heart’s newest yarn, Heat Wave. The aran weight yarn, made of 100% acrylic fibers, is the first of its kind to keep you up to 12 degrees warmer when activated by sunlight. We can’t explain the science, but you better believe we’ll be getting our hands on this heat generating yarn, which is now available in 13 colorways.
